Imperial College London

From her first day at Havergal in Junior Kindergarten, Su’s curiosity and drive led her to discover her passion in life: to improve the lives of others through biomedical engineering. Over the years, she found her stride competing in the pool with the Swim Team and mentoring younger swimmers through Havergal’s Coach Mentor Program. Her interest in computational advancements was sparked after taking Grade 11 Computer Science, which led her to sign up for and learn how to train AI models for medical research through Havergal’s HC-X Artificial Intelligence Digital Microcredential course. Su’s inquiring nature led her to various hands-on learning opportunities, from attending weekend engineering courses at the University of Toronto to shadowing researchers in a yeast-based lab and touring the labs at Toronto’s University Health Network so she could get a sense of what a career in research would be like. Currently, Su is studying Biomedical Engineering at Imperial College London, where she’s pursuing a four-year Master’s degree with the goal of specializing in computational biomedical engineering. After 14 years at Havergal College, she has a deep appreciation for the community she’s grown up in and takes away many memories of joyful learning.
