McGill University
After her first tour of Havergal, Sarah knew it was the school for her because she felt it offered a well-rounded educational experience: a challenging academic environment, a robust athletics program and an array of arts-based co-curricular opportunities. Joining the community in Grade 7, she played field hockey every season and had the courage to try things she was afraid to do, such as participating on the Rugby and Rowing Teams and auditioning for the Senior Choir. She was also an avid member of the Wellbeing Council, helping to focus the group’s efforts on overall student wellness instead of only on mental health issues. In her senior year, she worked with the Guidance Department to develop post-graduation programming for students, such as a resume-building workshop. Sarah discovered her interest in economics and international law at Havergal, receiving the Law Award in Grade 11. Currently, she is studying International Business at McGill University, with an interest in going on exchange as a part of the program’s global learning opportunities so she can learn about the world from a new perspective.
