McGill University

Seeing her two older sisters attend Havergal made it an easy choice for Jordy to join the community in Grade 7. With a strong background in sports (playing competitively in soccer, tennis and skiing), Jordy wanted to try all of the athletic opportunities Havergal offered, including soccer, flag football, badminton, volleyball, Nordic skiing, tennis, ultimate and rugby. After stepping away from competitive sports in Grade 9, she channelled her passion into leadership, joining a Special Olympics soccer program as a coach. On campus, she transformed a long-standing family tradition into a school legacy by introducing and leading a We Scare Hunger food drive. Academically, she enjoyed studying business and math, participating in DECA marketing competitions and working at an accounting firm in the summer. In Grade 10, Jordy had a transformative experience on exchange to Perth, Australia, where she expanded her global perspective as she discovered the value of vulnerability and independence. In her Grade 12 year, she was a Junior School Prefect and co-led the Jewish Student Affinity Group. Jordy is currently studying Management at McGill University.
