This is a full-time, permanent position starting in September 2025 (Time off over Christmas, March Break and the Summer).

The Position
This position provides an opportunity to gain experience in the classroom, be mentored by outstanding faculty, participate in ongoing professional development, and oversee the running of the Junior School’s Before and After School Care program (“Gator Care”). The successful candidate will provide classroom support for students in JK – Grade 6, as well as supply coverage for faculty. As an experienced childcare provider, you will also supervise and support students in the before and/or after-care program by organizing and leading developmentally appropriate and engaging activities.
Specific Accountabilities
- Work with fellow Gator Care supervisors to develop and deliver engaging, enriching programming for the Junior School Before and After Care Program.
- Provide coverage to Junior School classes during teacher absences.
- Supervise students and provide coverage during recess and lunch periods.
- Support Kindergarten students in specialist classes, as required.
- Actively participate in and contribute to relevant professional development opportunities.
- Foster and maintain a safe, nurturing environment for all students.
- Maintain accurate records for billing;
- Manage Upper School students who work in aftercare program;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Available to work during one of the following shifts: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, or 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
- Post Secondary Degree in Early Childhood Education, Educational Assistant, or a Bachelor of Education (asset);
- Member of the Ontario College of Teachers (asset);
- Experience working with students from age 4 – 12;
- Professional, organized, approachable, positive, flexible, creative, dependable;
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
