Financial Support

Many alumni, parents and friends have recognized the need for student financial support and have generously given their support to this area of need. Thanks to these gifts, Havergal is able to move toward eliminating the tuition fee barrier for exceptional Day and Boarding students in the Upper School who otherwise would not be able to attend Havergal. At the present time, financial support is not available for families who are applying to our Junior School.

Financial support is awarded in the form of a bursary. Bursaries are based on demonstrated financial need and are confidential. All applicants must meet the school’s terms for admission or re-registration to be considered for a bursary. The amount of financial support awarded is applied as a reduction of tuition fees.

Applying for Financial Support/Bursary

Returning Students Entering Grades 7 to 12: Deadline Extended to December 15, 2023

New Students Entering Grades 7 to 12: Deadline Extended to January 1, 2024

  • To be considered, please complete the Financial Assistance for Canadian Students (FACS) application form available on applefinancialservices.ca.
  • Bursaries are granted on an annual basis; therefore an application must be submitted each year.
  • Havergal also offers several entrance scholarships that are based on the financial need demonstrated by the candidate. Candidates must complete the entrance scholarship application form (included in the admission online application process) and the bursary application form.

A third party assesses the information in order to confirm financial need. The Student Assistance Committee reviews all applications and grants financial support after review of the recommendation by the third party agency. Parents who have questions about the forms, requested documents or the process may contact the agency directly.

All bursaries are awarded in compliance with relevant CAIS, CIS and Havergal policies and CRA rules, and with respect for donor intentions. For more information, please contact the Admission Office at 416-482-4724 or [email protected].

Entrance Scholarships

Scholarships at Havergal honour and support students with exceptional talents who meet academic admission standards and who contribute to the life of the school in significant ways. Entrance scholarships are based on merit, not on financial need, although they may be structured to include a financial need component at the donor’s request. The amount of the scholarship awarded is applied as a reduction of tuition fees.

How To Apply

Candidates for entrance scholarships must complete a Scholarship Application Form, which is included in the admission online application process. The scholarship application deadline is December 1, 2023. The specific terms for the scholarships are detailed below:
