Step 2: Financial Assistance
Deadline to apply for Financial Assistance: January 4, 2021
Thanks to many gifts from Old Girls, parents and friends, Havergal is able to move toward eliminating the tuition fee barrier for exceptional students in the Upper School who otherwise would not be able to attend Havergal. Financial aid is awarded in the form of a bursary. Bursaries are based on demonstrated financial need and are confidential.
To be considered, please complete the Financial Assistance for Canadian Students (FACS) application form available on applefinancialservices.ca. The deadline to apply is January 4, 2021. Financial assistance decisions are separate from admission decisions. Visit Tuition and Finanancial Information to learn more and to apply. Havergal also offers several Entrance Scholarships that are based on the financial need demonstrated by the candidate.
Step 3: Assessment
All Grade 9, 10 and 11 Boarding applicants must write the SSAT. Please visit ssat.org for testing dates. Applicants may be interviewed prior to writing the SSAT. In addition to the SSAT, all applicants are required to complete the SSAT Character Skills Snapshot. To learn more about the Character Skills Snapshot please click here. If you are unable to schedule a time to take the SSAT please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Step 4: English Requirements
Havergal does not offer an ESL program. In order for students to be successful at Havergal, they must be able to demonstrate fluency in both oral and written communication. Applicants whose first language is not English may be required to complete the IELTS test determine their proficiency.
Step 5: Interview
Once we receive your completed application, all applicants will be able to book an interview. The interview is designed to allow us to get to know you and your daughter as well as provide an opportunity for you to ask questions about the Havergal difference. For the health and safety of our applicants, students and faculty, for the time being interviews will be conducted over Zoom. We highly recommend downloading the Zoom app in advance of your interview.
Please contact our Admission Office for more details. Admission decisions for Boarding candidates are made as soon as the candidate’s file is complete. Learn more about Boarding at Havergal.
Step 6: Admission Decision
Boarding admissions are completed on a rolling basis and applications should be submitted as early as possible. We highly recommend applying by December 1, 2020. All applications must be accompanied by the application fee and copies of the previous two years’ report cards, which have been translated into English if necessary. It is also important to include a summary of the grading system if it does not appear on the report card.
