Types of Annual Gifts Annual donors may choose to make a gift which will be used immediately (Unrestricted Giving), or they may select to have their annual gift directed to the Endowment, meaning that it will join other such gifts and build capital; only a percentage of the investment income earned on these endowed funds is spent annually. Both types of gifts support the important strategic initiatives detailed above; however, endowed gifts help to secure Havergal's financial future by ensuring that the school has income, in perpetuity.
