Dear Parents,

I would like to share an important update with you regarding your daughter’s education in the month ahead. Today, the Ontario provincial government announced that all publicly funded Ontario schools have been ordered to remain closed until Monday, May 4 for students. You can read more about this announcement here.

As a result, Havergal College will follow this directive and will remain closed until Monday, May 4. This decision is an essential measure needed to keep all members of our community healthy and safe.

We find ourselves in a new normal that is changing each day, but I am confident that we are prepared to face this challenge, persevere and learn from this unique experience. We have an opportunity to equip students to become learners who navigate, thrive and contribute to the greater wellbeing and progress of their community.

Our faculty and staff will be working together to continue shaping the Remote Learning Plan (RLP) to best suit our students’ needs as we move through this term, while incorporating their feedback along the way. While the RLP is a transition for all of us, we will remain connected and continue to offer support for learning and wellbeing. We value your feedback and are working together with you and your daughter to collect insights to ensure that the RLP is engaging and meaningful.

Since Havergal will remain closed, all co-curricular activities, excursions, events and competitions (local, national and international) that were scheduled to take place from April 14 through the end of April are cancelled.

Please read Inside Havergal when it reaches you today. There are many supporting articles and resources for you to read and share with your daughter.

I appreciate your patience and continued support and wish you all good health.

Sincerely,

Catherine Misson
Principal
