In light of the recent developments related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Havergal College has decided to extend our school closure to Tuesday, April 14, 2020, following the Easter holidays.
The COVID-19 situation is ever-changing; we are taking this precaution now to help ensure the wellbeing of our community going forward through continued social distancing and reductions in group gatherings.
We know that many of our families are returning from their travels at this time and we recommend anyone who is returning to Canada to self-isolate for 14 days, per the guidelines issued by the Public Health Agency of Canada.
If you think you may have COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has, we encourage you to complete the online self-assessment tool found here on the Ontario government website.

At this time, we are not aware of anyone in the Havergal community who has tested positive or is suspected of having COVID-19.
All academics, co-curricular activities, excursions, events and local competitions that were scheduled to take place from April 6 to 13 are cancelled until further notice. All inter-provincial and international excursions for the full school term are cancelled. As a precaution, the following events that are scheduled to take place after April 13 have also been cancelled:
- Moms Mingle on April 16
- Founders’ Day on April 23
- Junior School Amazing Race on April 25
- Day 9 on May 7
- Grandchildren’s Party on May 27
I will be sharing information about our Remote Learning Plan with you, to support your daughter’s learning off campus, in the next 24 hours.
These are unprecedented times and as a community, we are all in this together. Your patience, cooperation and encouragement are deeply appreciated.
