Step 2: Explore Havergal
Before your interview, we invite you to take our virtual tour of Havergal and join us for one of our Admission events. We will be hosting virtual Open Houses, webinars about our academic, co-curricular and wellness programs as well as podcasts that you can download and listen to when it is convenient for you. Visit our Virtual Admission Centre for details and check back often for updates and new opportunities.
Step 3: Interview
Grades 8, 10 and 11 are not traditional entry years and spaces are dependent on attrition. Should a space become available, we will review all applications and invite select candidates to an interview and to participate in an assessment. We encourage families who are considering Grade 8, 10 or 11 to complete the SSAT assessment prior to January 15, 2021. To register for the SSAT, please visit their website.
Step 4: Assessment
All Grade 8, 10 and 11 applicants must write the SSAT. New this year, for applicants in both Canada and the US, the SSAT at Home is available. This is a secure computer-based testing option. Click here to learn more. For International applicants please visit ssat.org for testing dates. For any student applying for Grade 8, 10 or 11, the SSAT must be completed by January 22, 2021. Applicants may be interviewed prior to writing the SSAT.
Please note: If English is not the applicant’s first language, they may be asked to write the IELTS assessment to determine their English proficiency.
Step 5: Financial Assistance
Deadline to apply for Financial Assistance: January 4, 2021
Thanks to many gifts from Old Girls, parents and friends, Havergal is able to move toward eliminating the tuition fee barrier for exceptional students in the Upper School who otherwise would not be able to attend Havergal. Financial aid is awarded in the form of a bursary. Bursaries are based on demonstrated financial need and are confidential.
To be considered, please complete the Financial Assistance for Canadian Students (FACS) application form available on applefinancialservices.ca. The deadline to apply is January 4, 2021. Financial assistance decisions are separate from admission decisions. Visit Tuition and Finanancial Information to learn more and to apply. Havergal also offers several Entrance Scholarships that are based on the financial need demonstrated by the candidate.
Step 6: Admission Decision
All admission decisions will be emailed to families on February 26, 2021.
