Step2

Explore Havergal

Before your interview, we invite you to take our virtual tour of Havergal and join us for one of our Admission events. We look forward to welcoming prospective families back to our campus for Open Houses this fall. All families considering Havergal are invited to attend our Junior School Open House on October 17, 2023 and/or our Upper School Open House on October 18, 2023. Prospective families are also welcome to sign up for tours of campus in a personalized group format. Visit our Admission Centre for details and check back often for updates and new opportunities to learn more about Havergal.

Step3

Interview & Assessment

Once we receive your completed application, a member of the Admission team will contact you to arrange an interview. Interviews begin on October 11, 2023 and will run until February 9, 2024. The interview is designed to allow us to get to know you and your child as well as provide an opportunity for you to ask questions about the Havergal difference. For the health and safety of our applicants, students and faculty, for the time being interviews will be conducted over Zoom. We highly recommend downloading the Zoom app in advance of your interview.

The interview will be approximately 60 minutes and include time with you (parents) together with your child as well as time with your daughter on her own.  During the interview, through guided conversation, we will work through a series of tasks which are designed to provide the College with an understanding of each applicant’s skills which have been developed in literacy and numeracy as well as in the areas of:

  • Critical thinking skills
  • Problem solving/reasoning skills
  • Self awareness & self management

Please note: If English is not the applicant’s first language, they may be asked to write the IELTS assessment to determine their English proficiency.

Step4

Financial Support

Deadline to apply for Financial Support: January 1, 2024

Thanks to many gifts from alumni, parents and friends, Havergal is able to move toward eliminating the tuition fee barrier for exceptional students in the Upper School who otherwise would not be able to attend Havergal. Financial support is awarded in the form of a bursary. Bursaries are based on demonstrated financial need and are confidential.

To be considered, please complete the Financial Assistance for Canadian Students (FACS) application form available on applefinancialservices.ca. The deadline for new students to apply is January 1, 2024. Financial support decisions are separate from admission decisions. Visit Tuition, Financial Support & Scholarships to learn more and to apply. Havergal also offers several Entrance Scholarships that are based on the financial need demonstrated by the candidate.

Step5

Admission Decision

All admission decisions will be emailed to families on February 23, 2024.
