Shoot for Gold! Havergal Grade 12 student Rebecca Quinn is heading to compete for Canada’s National Team in the U-17 Women’s FIFA World Cup in Azerbaijan this month. A soccer player since the age of six, Rebecca has been on Canada’s National Team for about a year and looks forward to playing in the World Cup. “Hopefully we do well in the round-robins so we can stay and play at the games,” said Rebecca, who plays centre mid-field for the team.
The U-17 Women’s FIFA World Cup competition takes place from September 22 to October 13. Good luck to Canada’s National Team! Havergal will be rooting for Rebecca in jersey number five!
