On June 14, the Class of 2012 passed the torch to the Class of 2013 in a traditional ceremony dating back to 1934 called the Candlelight Ceremony. On this occasion, the Grads charged Grade 11 students with taking on the responsibility of leading the school through the next year; a Grad Belt, worn around the waist, was presented to each girl in Grade 11 by a graduating student; and the House Ribbon was braided by the House Captains as the girls sing the “Forty Years On.” A Bucket Party (so called, because of the emotion of the occasion) followed in the Temerty Commons and Labatt Quad. It was a lovely evening.
