On Monday April 30th, Mark Terry, Gemini award-winning documentary filmmaker and explorer, showcased his film ‘The Polar Explorer’ to a sold out crowd in the Legacy Theatre. He educated our community on the scientific discoveries being made in the arctic regions. These include the rapid melting of sea ice that is causing rising sea levels, changing currents (bringing Caribbean marine life into the Arctic), and both the warming and dilution of our oceans. The impact of these changes is just beginning to be understood. Congratulations to prize winners Danielle Meschino, Grace Acan and Chantel Gionet. It was a great evening!
