One-time gift is given all at once by cash, cheque or credit card.

Pledge has a particular start and end date and a fixed amount determined by the donor. It is usually made by credit card.

Monthly gift makes it easy for you to give to Havergal. Your gift is automatically charged to your credit card each month. Monthly giving can be discontinued at any time with notification.

A Gift of Securities: Educational institutions across Canada continue to strive for excellence despite continual challenges to their operating budgets. Our governments realize that on-going success in the field of education and other sectors has been greatly enhanced in recent years by gifts from individual donors and other philanthropic organizations. In an effort to make this type of philanthropy even more accessible, the Federal government has passed legislation whereby gifts of appreciated securities are fully exempt from capital gains tax when donated to a charitable organization. This is very welcome news for Havergal, as it provides a strong incentive for continued generous support from our parents, Old Girls and our extended community.

Donors of appreciated securities to Havergal receive a tax receipt for the fair market value of their gift on the day it is received. Gifts In Kind: A donor may make a gift of tangible property to Havergal College. Typical gifts-in-kind include books, equipment, furnishings etc. These gifts must be pre-arranged with the Office of Advancement & Community Relations to ensure the gift may be used in the school. With the appropriate appraisals, donors may receive a charitable tax receipt for the fair market value of their gift-in-kind.

Matching Gifts: Double your impact! Does you company participate in a matching gift program? Double or even triple the size of your gift to Havergal College with a contribution made by your employer.
